Stacks

Organise your platform into groups divided by logical partitions. Every stack is made up of a collection of servers. This really simplifies management and maintenance.

Cloud Vendors

Skystack supports multiple cloud vendors but a Stack can only belong to one vendor and one jurisdiction.

Jurisdictions

Skystack splits multiple cloud services into jurisdictions based on the location of the data centre. To unify all our cloud vendors under 1 common language we use simple cardinals and continent codes.

e.g EU:W references any Western European data centre. Skystack has further classifications using the cloud vendor abbreviation like AWS:EU:W to denote the cloud and the jurisdiction.

Using this notation your business can easily manage applications between LND:EU:W (Linode), RCK:EU:W (Rackspace) and AWS:EU:W (Amazon EC2)

Servers

Servers currently belong to a stack, the meta-data thats used to build a server originates from a stack. Organising them in this way makes it much easier to manage your servers.
